The standard of ideas and execution was tremendous this year. It's our best brief to date, with the highest participation ever. We here at YoungGuns commend you all and thank you for all your hard work. It does not go unnoticed. You all rock!

The YGAward 2006 Creative Brief is set by PETA – (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals)

PETA has more than a million members and supporters, is the largest animal rights organization in the world. PETA operates under the simple principle that animals are not ours to eat, wear, experiment on, or use for entertainment.

PETA focuses its attention on the four areas in which the largest numbers of animals suffer the most intensely for the longest periods of time: on factory farms, in laboratories, in the clothing trade, and in the entertainment industry.

“To see the minds of 600 ad professionals around the world come together to figure out how to sensitize people to the most abused animals in the world—chickens—was absolutely riveting. They really encourage people to think before they eat. It was very frustrating to pick the top 3 winners as there were so many imaginative entries. In fact, we found several different campaigns for different markets and look forward to getting them out to the public in early 2007.”

-Dan Mathews, Vice President, PETA
